Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Explains How to Satisfy Women

Dwayne Johnson gives everything he can to romantic relationships these days. And that means being a Rock to the woman he's involved with.

"When I say I'm going to take care of a woman, I don't just mean physically or sexually or romantically. I'm going to take care of her emotionally and spiritually," the action star, 41, tells the August issue of Essence, on newsstands July 8.

"I'm going to take care of her in all ways. I take a lot of pride in that today."

The actor, who will play the title role in Brett Ratner's Hercules next summer, also speaks about his 2007 divorce from Dany Garcia Johnson after 10 years of marriage.

"Since our divorce, we've become pretty good at working together, and we are also raising our beautiful 11-year-old daughter, Simone," he says.

After the college sweethearts split, Garcia actually stayed on to run the business she and Johnson created together. "He has a strong sense of family," Garcia told PEOPLE last year. "We have that extra layer of trust that can only come from family. We are just a different family, and we keep adding new people."

"You know, you don't sign up for a divorce when you get married," Johnson says now. "It's very painful. But it's taught me a great deal about myself."
